Purpose

The purpose of this blog is to look at the portrayal of the coming out experience. The reason it is called Portrayal/Betrayal is because I've notice many of the experiences lack reality. They portray being gay as a switch you can turn on or off, or they punish the character who is gay for being gay. The most egregious though is forcing people to give up their lives because gay. I hope people will understand that while coming out is a varied experience the media usually shows it as a punishment.
